Small Business Saturday- MLTsCreations

Ever wondered what it would be like to own your own business? That's exactly what 16 year old Meesa Thaden did! Meesa is a Junior at Urbana High School with dreams of graduating and attending FCC for two years before transferring to UMD andgetting a degree in business.

In April 2019 Thaden pushed publish on her online Etsy store but the past summer is when she began dedicating many hours building her shop. Now MLTsCreations is home to earrings, keychains necklaces and many other cute and trendy items. Thaden's goal was to create not only cute and trendy pieces but also affordable! Customer Elizabeth Rsjnik states, "I started shopping at Meesa's Etsy when I saw a friend shout out her shop on Instagram.I absolutely loved everything she made. She makes the dantiest,trendy and affordable jewelry and everything is such high-quality and you can tell that Meesa puts so much work and care into her business. Shopping at Etsy shops like Meesa's is such an awesome way to support small businesses! I can't get enough of her jewelry and I highly recommend everyone go check out her shop!"

"It is very rewarding to read comments and hearing about how much people love my products" Thaden states. Over the next 5 years Thaden hopes to reach 1,000 sales on Etsy and continue to grow her company as she is able to be her own boss, make her own hours and do what she loves. She encourages anyone who wants to start their own business to start now, its never too late. Thaden is very active on social media through Instagram and Tik Tok to promote her brand and she loves seeing others creating social media posts using her jewelry!

My favorite part about small businesses is how much love they put into what they do. Like look at Meesa's packaging! Each order she includes a personal hand written note thats something big retailers don't do which just makes shopping at small businesses more special. Thaden expressed how thankful she is for her friends, family and customers for all their love and support. She stated " Starting a small business can be difficult at times but it is so rewarding when you see your sales increasing and revenue coming in."
